In three short weeks, the Anna robotics team will advance to regional competition competing at the Garland Activity Center. They will face many other robotics teams from Texas, New Mexico, and Arkansas.

Nightcrawler, the robot, is undergoing a lot of changes. After a poor showing at the district competition, the robot team is redesigning the whole robot. As soon as Nightcrawler is operational, the drivers will start practicing with it so they are prepared for the upcoming competition. The robotics students will be scurrying around putting up the display boards and making sure the robot is fully functional. 

Storm Rubio said " The robot at the first competition had a few kinks in it, and now that we have redesigned it, we should win first in state."

The robot's job is to collect "flies" (Styrofoam balls) with the gripper and move them to another containment area. The gripper now has a ramp built into it to make it easier for flies to slide out. The chasis is now smaller than it was before; also the wheels have been changed from gear-like wheels to full circular wheels. The arm of Nightcrawler is still currently being redesigned.
