“Millions asked for it, and now TeenNick is bringing back 90’s Nickelodeon, it’s The 90’s Are All That!” Each night at midnight, Kenan Thompson, known for his roles on Nickelodeon’s All That and Kenan & Kel, can be seen hosting TeenNick’s highly-demanded reruns of Nickelodeon’s shows aired during the 90’s. All That, Kenan & Kel, Doug, Rugrats, and Hey! Arnold reruns can regularly be seen late each night. At other times, special scheduling occurs in the lineup to show other programs such as Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, The Angry Beavers, Family Double Dare, Rocket Power, The Wild Thornberrys, Legends of the Hidden Temple, The Ren & Stimpy Show, The Journey of Allen Strange, The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, Space Cases, The Secret World of Alex Mack, Salute Your Shorts, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and Clarissa Explains It All.
On Friday nights, Stick Stickly, host of the Nick in the Afternoon block during the 90's, returned to host the block. The Friday night line-up revives "U-Pick" from the afternoon block, allowing viewers to vote online to decide which shows they want to see.
One of the most unique qualities of the lineup is that Tweets from viewers are shown before and after commercial breaks. Some of the popular hashtags include #whereskel, #NOWigetrocko, #The90sAreAllThat, #AllThat, and #HeyArnold. The tweets demonstrate how popular the lineup is and just how much of a demand for 90’s reruns there was.
Despite the late night air-time, the amount of nostalgia viewers receive from being able to watch their favorite shows again is worth it. To avoid staying up too late, viewers can just set their DVRs to record their favorite shows. In the future, more shows are expected to be added into the lineup, including Wild and Crazy Kids, The Adventures of Pete & Pete, CatDog, Cousin Skeeter, GUTS, My Brother and Me, Weinerville, and KaBlam!. So viewers should be on the lookout for more of their favorite shows.
