Ratko Mladic, the seventy year old Bosnian Serb former general accused of 11 counts of war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity during the 1992-1995 war in Yugoslavia. His trial is being held at the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague, Netherlands, a court established specifically to try leaders accused of war crimes.
During the proceedings, Mladic was showing little remorse for his actions and sneered  and growled at witnesses and survivors of the genocide that he is accused of that was meant for “ethnic cleansing”.
The mass murder during the war claimed the lives of eight thousand Muslims in Srebrenica, Bosnia. Sexual assault was also an enormous part in the atrocities committed. Women described being raped repeatedly and forced to watch family members being murdered.
Mladic evaded capture for nearly two decades until he was caught by police in May 2011.
