Faith Lutheran students went to
chapel on March 7 to learn that they were going to be Skyping with Rachel Klitzing,
the Education Executive of the Pacific Southwest District of the Lutheran
Church Missouri Synod (LCMS), to announce that Faith Lutheran Jr/Sr High School
has been named a National Exemplary School in the Lutheran Church Missouri
Synod.
“A school needs to achieve certain criteria in order to earn this award,” said Susan Gentry, the assistant
to Dr. Buuck.
There are 2,343 schools in the
Synod, and Faith Lutheran is one of only seven to receive this award.
“We are third in the Pacific Southwest District to receive this distinction,” continued Gentry.
With this honor that has been given
to Faith Lutheran comes responsibility. The leaders of the schools that have
been chosen have to prepare a print article and present webinars that are open
to participation for all other Lutheran schools to be able to learn and improve
their programs and their school.
Faith Lutheran will be sharing
their technology initiatives, the Mark 10:14 program, and the student-led
chapels to other Lutheran schools.
