State drill will be on February 4, 2012 at the Utah Valley University in Orem. The competition will begin at 9 A.M, however the team will be leaving around 6 A.M to prepare and get ready for the intense day.

The number of teams competing for the title of rockin’ turns and killer head-stands, will depend on who qualifies. Last year there were eighteen teams and this year will be roughly about the same.

The officers leading the team this year are: President Hayley Robinson, Vice President Kalee Smith, Secretary Hailee Garrett, Senior Rep Brittney Chapple, Junior Rep McKenzie Tangren, Sophomore Rep Ashley Whimpey, team manager Jaimee Beard and coaches Lisa Blackett and Marci Rasch.

What do you think state will be like this year? I asked a member from each grade this question. Hayley Robinson (12) said, “A long and crazy day and we’re going to do awesome!”

I asked junior McKenzie Tangren and she said, “I think we have a really good shot at state this year. It will be tough competition but I know my team has what it takes.” Jesssika Kenison (10) said, “It’s going to be insane! I am so pumped. We are going to throw it to the ground!”

Lisa Blackett said, “3A state will be a fierce battle for the top five slots. The talent is the best it has been in years. Marci and I expect nothing but the best from our team. We have to have sharp, flawless routines. We are all doing our best mentally and physically to be prepared to leave it all on the floor. Juab is definitely in the running.”

Team manager Jaimee Beard said, “I think it’s going to be so much fun! The team has improved so much and they’ll do great at state!”

The ProVita is set and ready for their big and final competition day! We have been preparing for this day since our camp in June. Practicing every morning, and some nights during competition season. We have showed our dedication to each other and the sport of dancing as a whole. We hope that our hard work will pay off to end the year with a bang. Grateful for all the support and faith, we thank you.
