Players gave it all they got during the NBA opener as the Celtics defensive game crushed the Cavs 90-85 at Boston.

The game had excitement right after the tip-off until the buzzer ended the game. The defending champions showed that they were still a strong team by defeating the Cavs.

The finals MVP Paul Pierce scored 27 points in the NBA’s first game of the season, which is a 5 point differential between the KING LeBron James with 22 points. “22 points isn’t good enough to be the ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the NBA,” says Ernie Peters, a student who dislikes LeBron James. “Kobe Bryant is just a little better than LeBron James”

As the game began LeBron James and the Cavaliers rallied to a great start by going up by as much as twelve points in the first quarter, “which probably made the Celtics worry,” said Ernie Peters, a fan of the NBA.

As the second quarter began Paul Pierce, of the Boston Celtics, started to heat up on all his shots. The Celtics came back within four points. The Cavs then started to gain the lead as the first half came to a close. The Cavs were up 50-43.

In the third quarter the Celtics regained the lead by outscoring the Cavs 24-13, they played outstanding, Celtics made 12 of the first 14 points. They slowly regained the lead and slowly started to take over the game. The Celtics were up 67-63, as the third quarter came to a close.

In the forth quarter when the Celtics led 86-80 Mo Williams, of the Cavs, hit a big three pointer to bring the Cavs within three. The Cavs muscled their way to within two points. The Cavs were playing tight defense, but the Celtics found Leon Powe wide open underneath the basket for a basket and a foul. Boston was up 88-84. LeBron James brought the ball down and had a chance at the basket, but failed to put it in.

The Celtics gave the ball to Ray Allen, one of the leagues best free-throw shooters, and he was sent to the line. Allen put the Celtics up 90-84. As time winded down LeBron went to the free-throw line and hit 1 of 2. The Cavs fell short of the NBA opening game with the final score of 90-85.
