Varsity Nenana Lynx and Lady Lynx come to Galena to compete against the Varsity Galena Hawks and Lady Hawks on the weekend of January 16, 2009.

            The first game was on Friday. Both girls and boys easily won against the Nenana Lynx. The girl’s score was 71-21, and boy’s score was 86-27. They also won easily on Saturday night.

            Brian Settle, a junior, had 33 points by the end of the game, while William Tritt and Raymond Huntington had 10 points each.

            High scorer for the Lady Hawks, Jenna Buchanan, had 24 points, while Adrienne Beans had 10 points.

            Naron Burks, in his first year here coaching the boys, didn’t return from the break, so Beth Buchanan had to coach both girl’s and boy’s games on Friday and Saturday night.
