Last year the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activity Association created a competition called Win-Win Week. The winner receives a championship trophy. Since then every year around the same time Kingfisher High School supports the cancer center in the city by donating the money the schools raises for cancer studies. This year KHS is trying for about 3,600 dollars. If the School raises that amount, it will be combined with the money raised from last year. If we reach 10,000 dollars, the student council will be able to name a room at Stevenson’s cancer center.

All this week there were four large jugs that the students where suppose to put change in. The students were put change in the jug they wanted to win, and put the green bills in the class they wanted to lose. Freshman lagged behind while the senior and there rivals, the junior class, fought to win the fundraiser.

Each day this week students passed out colored ribbons to the student body to represent the cancer for the day. Monday was prostate and colon cancer, Tuesday leukemia, Wednesday sarcoma, bone and bladder cancer, Thursday liver cancer, and Friday is Breast cancer.

Dodge ball anyone? Wednesday at school and Thursday night there was Dodge ball games to raise money for the fundraiser. Wednesday was really the highlight of the game because all the students left class to watch their classmates fight for the win. The final with take place Friday at the pep assembly.

There is a thermometer in the front office to shows how much the students have raised. On the sides, there are task the teacher have agreed to do if the school raises that amount of money.
