After six seasons, the beloved HBO series Sex and the City ended its run on television and the world saw a need to turn it into a movie. Sex and the City was brought to the big screen this past summer and became a huge hit.
The show is about four friends, Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda who are grown and living their lives in New York City. They share all of their secrets and drama in the hustle and bustle of their city lives. They deal with guy drama and other problems that normal women face in everyday life.
In the movie, Carrie, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, moves in with love interest Mr. Big into a beautiful New York apartment and they decide to get married. What Big and Carrie had planned on being a small wedding blooms into a large elegant event complete with a Vogue photo shoot and things start to get out of hand. During this time Miranda, played by Cynthia Nixon, is confronted with her own problems when her husband admits to cheating on her. In the midst of her own sadness she proceeds to tell Big that he is crazy to get married. Big gets to thinking and maybe marriage really isn’t the right thing for him and Carrie.
Samantha and Charlotte, the other two best friends of Carrie and Miranda live their own lives filled with their own dramas. But in the midst of it all, they’re always there to help out a friend in need.
I had seen the show a few times, but was never a big fan of it. However, from the moment the movie began, I was in love with it. The fashion sense in the movie was outstanding and the outline of events throughout the movie kept me hooked the whole time. Not only that, but it was also hilarious. It was a very realistic movie, especially for a girl who understands that things don’t always work out how one may want them to.
I would recommend this movie to any girl who loves fashion, comedy and dramatic movies.
