Peter Kierstead rehearses diligently for the upcoming

show.
Roosevelt Drama Guild’s annual fall play Maybe Baby It’s You is not your typical play. Instead of one plot and the same recurring characters, the audience will be offered an array of eleven different comedy scenes. Each scene depicts interactions between males and females, with the emphasis on communication and understanding. Even though the scenes are not connected, there is an overall theme that there is someone out there for everyone. Another unique aspect of the play is that the music will be completely composed, arranged, and played by Roosevelt senior Max Nolin.

“It’s been a new experience and it’s been challenging. This may be the funniest show Roosevelt [has ever produced.] It’s genuinely funny and everyone will enjoy it,” Nolin said.

The cast of Maybe Baby It’s You is much larger than other casts in the past with thirty-two actors and actresses. A lot of new actors and actresses will be featured along with the long-standing ones, giving everyone a chance to shine.

One of the Drama Guild’s veteran actors, senior Mike Ullinger plays the side role of Diego, a Hispanic man chasing his dream girl, but his main character is Ron. The character of Ron is a pretty average guy, except for the fact that he does not have the ability to dance. To make things even better, Ron is caught at a wedding where his unique dancing style is continually on display.

“It’s going really well, it just has a weird rehearsal schedule,” Ullinger said.

Junior Sara Tebeau, another returning actress, plays the character of Elaine. Elaine is a girl who sits at TGI Fridays for a long period of time in hopes of meeting her knight in shining armor. Unfortunately, the man that shows up for her does not meet up to her standards. “[The show is] very unique to anything that RHS Drama has ever done before,” Tebeau said.

This play offers something for everyone. It is funny and will leave the audience with a good feeling inside. What more can you ask for? This play, like all other Drama Guild productions, has a great cast with awesome potential. See you all there!
