The boys' soccer team traveled to the Kennedale Tournament on Thursday Jan. 22 and lost the first game, 2-0 (our first loss of the season), to Kaufman High School, that went on to lose only in the championship game. After the loss, we were put in the consolation bracket and beat Robinson 2-0 off goals both goals by Eddie Gonzalez.
On Saturday, we traveled back to Kennedale for an 8 a.m. game against Hillsboro in the semifinal round. Hillsboro scored first, but we quickly tied the game off a long shot taken by Gonzalez. The score remained tied at 1, and a shootout determined the winner as we ended their tournament with a 3-0 score in the shootout. In the consolation final, we played Ferris High School. Although we started off slowly, we ended up playing one of our better games, winning 4-0. In the end, we went 3-1 in the tournament, putting our season record at 8-1.

We will play at Waco High on Tuesday to start our district season. The guys are ready to get started what we all hope is our first playoff season.
