Embed This Article Walthall-Taylor, Ensembles Receive Division I's at Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest [ArticleImageHyperLink] [ArticleMedia] Tuesday, June 02, 2009 By Tom English     At the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest in San Marcos this past week, the following students received first divisions on their solos: Rydell Walthall and Jerome Taylor, while Warren Willis was second division on his solo, and the flute trio of Lauren Shelton, Christina Martin, and Anita Rodriguez won a first division for ensemble. The brass sextet of David Daniels, William Huneke, Michael Kerley, Cherie Scott, Rydell Walthall, and Aron York was also a first-division ensemble.     I was very pleased with the results because earning a first division at state is very difficult.
