Yes, finals are over tomorrow (June 3), but students need to take care of a lot of things before leaving, as intercom announcements have reminded them over and over...
First is taking the last finals seriously and not blowing them off because failing students will be headed to three weeks of summer school or repeating a class (one or two semesters). Next is turning in locks and all books and avoiding the fine list. Included are my
To Kill a Mockingbird paperbacks from January! Amazingly, 30 haven't even turned them in.
Third is cleaning out lockers and putting things where they belong--taking home personal items, throwing the trash into the proper receptacles, and recycling what paper-plastic and cans possible. Lastly (but most important to me and my yearbook staff) is buying your
Treasure Chest before leaving this week because the price goes up from $30 to $35 when they arrive at the start of the next school year.
Student and commercial ads are still available for $200 (full page), $130 (half), $75 (quarter), and $45 (one eighth). See me in room 214 or any journalism student before taking off for the summer and have a lot of fun the next two and a half months! Be sure to check out the on-line newspaper occasionally during that time because news items will be posted as they come in.
See you at the HOT Coliseum for graduation tomorrow night!
