On Wednesday, October 21, La Vega ISD will host the Region 8 UIL 1A and 2A Marching Contest on the football field's new turf. Bands from throughout Central Texas will participate in the Contest.

We will have over thirty bands that will be performing throughout the day and it is open to the public. There is no admission change.

This is the first year for the La Vega High School to host this contest, and we look forward to hosting again in the future. We will have several students and adults from the community helping with the contest.

The Superintendent of Schools is Dr. Sharon Shields, Athletic Director Willie Williams, and high school principal is Sam Sexton. The band directors are Tom English, Holly Johnson and Ramon Carrillo. The contest will be held rain or shine.
