At the 19-3A District Track and Field Meet at La Vega High School April 11-12, the varsity boys' team finished third with 99 points behind Lorena and Connally and the JV second with 115 points behind the Cadets.

Modocs qualifying for regionals at Humble Apr. 27-28 were the 400-meter winner Allen Eckles (50.43), Michael Starts with a shot put win (50'4") and runnerup finish in the discus (132'4"), and all three relays as Eckles combined with Kevin Sanders, Anthony Mitchell, and Jha'Miah Goodman for second in the 1600 relay (3:32.65), and Sanders and Mitchell joined Charleston McKinney and Javon Arnett to sweep the shorter relays, timed in 42.33 for the 400 relay and 1:29.77 in the 800 relay.

Other top-six finishes for the Modocs were Charleston McKinney, who was third in the 200 (22.54); Gibram Martinez, fourth in the 800 (2:09.15); Javon Livings, fourth in the long jump (20' 3/4"); and Kevin Ohoran, sixth in the 3200 (10:58.56).

For the JV, Damarquis Sheppard, Marquavion Maladdie, Detrayten Wagoner, and Randy Gober won the 400 relay in 44.70, and Trevor Carroll joined Maladdie, Wagoner, and Gober for a 1:33.98 victory in the 800, while Sheppard teamed with Adam Ramos, Jose Galvan, and
DJ Jefferson for a runnerup spot to Connally in the 1600 relay in 3:42.77.

Individually, Jay Dixon was second in the triple jump at 38'8", followed by Gerald Horne III in third (37'10 1/2") and Byron Bryant in fifth (36'5"), while Jefferson finished second in the 100 (11.96), Wagoner was runnerup in the 200 (23.30) with Maladdie fifth in 24.02. Ramos was edged out in the 400 but took the silver in 54.40, followed by Jefferson in third (55.27), and Benjamin Hernandez was third in the 1600 (5:25.62).
