Talon’s New Year’s Resolutions:

Learn about the staff’s various New Years resolutions – Happy 2012!

Jaden: Read more books and watch less TV. I’ve gotten out of the habit of reading books, which I really enjoy. I want to read a book per month that isn’t for school, but just for me. First book on the list – The Fault In Our Stars.

McKenna: I have a couple resolutions. The first one is to cut back on sugar and eat a more healthy diet. I think we all struggle with this. Especially when we're really busy, it's hard to stick to healthy eating. I also want to budget my time to fit in exercise. Finally, I want to not procrastinate as much. It's easy to put things off for later but it always causes problems. Sticking to it is really the way I want to go in 2012!

Micah: My New Years Resolution is to try and write every day. My point in writing every day is to increase my writing skills and to polish my work.

Kristina: This year, one of my New Year's resolutions is that really want to get better grades in school. It can get really hard for me because I am in 5th grade and I do 6th grade work. My goal for the New Year is to concentrate more on each lesson and take my time. I am going to beat my goal and succeed in school! Sticking to a goal is another resolution I want to have for 2012!

James: I have one New Years resolution. I've thought long and hard about this and I've come to the conclusion that this year I'm going to get in shape finally. I'm not overweight or out of shape but more/less pack on more muscle is the goal. The way I'll be doing it is I'll train the same way the army trains. I figure working out will benefit me not just now but for the rest of my life, if I keep at it 2012 should be a great year for myself.

Louisa: My New Years resolution is to make better use of my time. By doing this means less time watching TV and chatting on Facebook, and more time doing more productive things like running or doing homework. I think it'll really help with my procrastination problem!

Hannah: This year my resolutions span a variety of different areas in my life. I am resolving to get healthier by doing push ups and sit ups at least four times a week. I am also resolving to become a more social person and make sure that I am getting out and doing things with friends.

Dana: My biggest resolution for 2012 is to lose some extra weight I have put on. Another resolution I have is to put more time and effort into school. I would like to finish the school year with A's and B's. Sticking to my resolutions is always hard for me, but I hope to keep them this year.

Rachel: This year, I didn't pick an exact New Years Resolution. I don't usually pick a New Years Resolution in the first place, but this year I decided that my New Years Resolution was to read through the entire Bible in a year.

Danielle: My New Years resolution is to not give up when I am faced with a challenge. Being a high school senior, I am enduring a difficult time in my life. I will be faced with many hardships. I need to learn how to take a step back, breathe, and know that I can get myself through it and succeed.
