Middle School Boys' Basketball Season Closes in Victory
The Saints middle school boys' basketball team made strides this year in many phases of the game. “First and foremost we developed as teammates and brothers working toward one goal,” says Head Coach Mr. Curtis Miller, “as we played for our Lord and then for our teammates.” The season started on a rough patch, but as teamwork increased the boys were able to stare in the face of adversity. Miller shares, “We were able to obtain success with a motto ‘NEVER GIVE UP!’” He also comments on one of the highlights of the season which was the Baltimore Lutheran Middle School Basketball Challenge on Feburary 24-25 where the boys were down eleven points with two and half minutes left. The Saints rallied off thirteen unanswered points to squeeze by St. Paul Glen Burnie. “We turned around just an hour later to have a come-from-behind overtime victory over Trinity Joppa [which showed] great teamwork and dedication to never give up,” adds Miller. With their perseverance, the Saints walked away champions of the consolation game.
