On Earth Day, 2005, a ground breaking ceremony was held here at the New School and construction on the building began. Now, over year later, the school has begun to move in. There is a black box where students are currently rehearsing for “Arabian Nights”. There is a media center that contains a number of new IMacs. There’s a large gym divided in half by a volley ball net. The gym also has stadium seating, and soon basket ball hoops will be mounted on the walls. There’s John Potter’s new office, and Ted’s new art studio complete with a stone sculpting patio. Although currently only a temporary occupancy permit has been granted, New Schoolers are enjoying the additional space, and look forward to a permanent permit being issued.
