This past week a sensational movie was released. Talladega Nights The Ballad of Ricky Bobby is a phenomenally funny film that exhibits Will Ferell in his finest state of comedy. If you thought NASCAR was a bunch of drunken rednecks watching cars going around in circles, then you were absolutely right. This fine comedy film exploits how utterly hysterical the sport of NASCAR can be.
The driver Ricky Bobby steps up to drive for the underdog Laughing Clown Liquor Race Team. He wins every race with the assistance of his teammate, Ken. All is going well, Ricky is at the top of his game with no one even close to being able to touch him and his racing skills. This all changes when the over zealous, homosexual, French Formula One racer comes to America. His goal in invading the states is to take Ricky down. The two dual in a head to head race. After wrecking the entire field; when coming around the final stretch the Frenchman wrecks Bobby. Bobby thinks he is on fire and goes into shock.
While at the hospital he is under the impression that he’s paralyzed and will never walk again. He is consoled by Ken and the captain of his pit crew and they finally get him to walk, the methods of doing so involved a stab to the leg, followed by many more. After being convinced he could walk again he decides to re-adopt his favorite phrase: “I WANNA GO FAST!”
When he gets out of the hospital it takes him some time to “get his b**** back”, once he does so he’s at it again trying to take out the “Frenchy”. He finally defeats the Frenchman and is victor of all that is NASCAR, and is awarded many sponsorships, most of them being hard liquor sponsorships.
It is my duty to inform you that I was not able to portray all the hysterics performed by will Ferell, as they would be deemed inappropriate and this article would be butchered, Will Ferell’s performance was superb in this unbelievably funny film. It shall not be in theaters much longer, so it is your job now to go to a theater, buy a Coke and some popcorn, and see the film. In such a case as you cannot make it to the theater, then rent it or pirate it, whatever you do, see the movie, it will be time and money very well spent.
