Macs may be somewhat more user-friendly, and it may be easier to make videos and music with a Mac, but there’s absolutely nothing that stops a PC user from making videos, pictures, music, or anything else a Mac claims to do.
The Mac does have its creativity argument, but the PC is definitely the best computer for gaming. Not only is game performance almost always better on a PC, but many great games aren’t even compatible with Macs, such as the new line of games under the “Games for Windows” tag. Games that are compatible with Macs usually do not have support options for Mac users, and usually give Mac users errors and other problems.
A PC is generally a lot less expensive than a Mac. A normal non-gaming optimized Mac is approximately $1200 on average, while a typical low-end gaming PC would only cost about $550. Apple Computers, the Mac’s company, doesn’t even offer real gaming Macs. Macs designed for gaming have to be bought from separate retailers, which can not only be a hassle, but it can be much more expensive.
Also, a Mac essentially is not designed to be upgraded. With a Mac, the parts cannot be removed or replaced, requiring an entirely new Mac each time you want to upgrade. For gamers, this is a huge money sink.
So, think about it. What’s better: spending a lot of money on a Mac just for its simpler interface, or spending only a bit of money on a PC that’s great for gaming, is easy to upgrade, and can also make videos, music, and pictures just as well?
