He started instructing in the Coast Guard and figured out that he liked the interaction in a learning environment and that he could get to know people better, so he decided to become a teacher. He decided to teach English because he realized that he was good at helping people understand literature. Mr. Jackson decided to work at Bend High School because of the really friendly people and the strong tradition that Bend High has. He wants to bring to Bend High his passion for the written word and wants to be a part of what seems to be a great institution. In his spare time he loves fly-fishing and spending time with his wife, two kids and his two dogs.
