Boú Amaya wins top honors at Miss Pueblo County Scholarship pageant earlier this year.

Ever since Boú Amaya was a little girl she dreamed of taking part in a pageant. Last year after watching a friend she decided to try her luck by entering the Miss Pueblo County Scholarship Pageant.           

Amaya did very well for her first time winning the sports wear portion of the competition, but it only left her hungry for more, and in this years pageant she set out to do better.

Now this would not come easy for her, she would have to take part in and be judged in four events.

First she was required to have an interview with the judges. And then on the night of the actual pageant she would first have to do an on stage introduction fallowed by, a fashion show in sports wear, or casual wear.

After that all contestants would have to go through a formal wear fashion show, and then the judges would decide who would take home what prizes.

This year Amaya would really out do herself, taking home prizes for Miss Congeniality, formal wear, and in her greatest accomplishment she was crowned Miss Jr. Teen Pueblo. Winning a prize of $300 savings bond for her outstanding performance.

Brian Domina was one of the few here at central who knew that Amaya would be taking part in this competition, “ she remained very humble about it and didn't want anyone to know” said Domina. He also said that she is a good representative of  Central.

This attitude will surely take her far in life, as Amaya has dreams of one day running for Miss Colorado and Miss America.

Certainly it can be said that the future is bright for this young lady wildcat.
