We the students of Ketchum High School, in order to form a more perfect lunch period, request, no demand, that our rights be recognized. Our rights being: access to a nutrituous and fulfilling lunch, the right to choose whether to have chicken, hot dogs, or crispitos without the threat of catastrophic stomach upset, and last, to not worry about high cholesterol at such a young age.

For the students, lunch is a time to get away from the stress and pressures of each class and to give our brains a break. But it's hard to relax when you have 'prison guards' watching your every move and waiting for the chance to bring the wrath of the school down upon you. It's time for the students to stand up for what they believe should be and to speak out against the oppression of the lunch period. Too many days have gone by in which I sat in silence, glaring at the meal, and on the verge of slinging my tray across the commons onto an unsuspecting student or staff member. And on the few days that the school provides a decent lunch there is barely enough to go around once, only because the school is serving what seems like half of a nutritional ration. By the time second lunch is served the food is halfway cold and the salad bar nearly depleted.

If nothing is done about the lack of attention towards the lunches, the student body will be forced to take action.
