Have you ever wanted to tell a teacher how you feel? Have you ever told a teacher how you felt but ended up ignored or punished? Everyday students are faced with many obstacles. One of which is how to deal with teachers. Many students feel that their teacher isn’t always fair. Having student surveys is an option that the Hillwood Administration is considering. If these surveys are put into effect, students will have the opportunity to tell teachers how they feel without being ignored or punished. These surveys are not mean to be cruel, so they will not be based on personal feelings. Students will be able to make suggestions like, “ we should have spent more time on chapter three” or “ you didn’t do good enough job clarifying the objective.” These surveys will be confidential so no name will be required. There isn’t a guarantee that doing these will make a big difference or that they will modify a teacher’s procedure. That is why these surveys are simply just an idea that is being discussed. Hopefully, these surveys will give enough feedback to produce an open-door policy between teachers and students and will strengthen student-teacher relationships.
