A recent organization that has been very popular lately is Project ASK, a charity for children with cancer. This association benefits children at the hospitals, especially during the holiday season. "[project ASK] helps make life better for the children with cancer." Executive Director Anne Cuomo explains, "It provides assistance for financial support, social support, emotional, and spiritual support".

Not only does the charity support the children with their spirits, but it helps the families that are suffering through this time as well. Project ASK began in 1975, when a group of parents came together to support each other. Cuomo thinks of this organization as “compassionate” and “dedicated”. Statistics show that the total contributions have exceeded about $870,000 from the 22 years of service that this charity has been attending to.

In total, Project ASK has helped improve the lives of at least 500 children and their families suffering from cancer. People are able to donate clothing, books, toys, games, and other small contributions to support the Project ASK program.

Although many may not have personal experiences with cancer patients, just being there to help makes a difference.

For Cuomo, she “became involved with ASK because of a child I met and grew to love. Sadly he didn't make it but his courage lived on in my heart”.
