Student Council throughout the years has collected cans for the needy of Waldron.

“The school has been doing this [collecting cans] for about ten years now,” said Student Council Sponsor Mr. Trester.

“This is my third year,” said Junior Sarah Adams.

Each year, they estimate a higher amount of cans that they should collect.

“We estimate 450 cans. Five from each member,” said Trester.

“We are collecting cans to give to the needy for Thanksgiving,” said Trester.

Student Council gives the can that they collected to the people who need them the most in the community.

“We deliver the cans to needy families,” said Adams.

When Adams was asked who delivers the cans, she said, “The executive board, Sharon, Amanda, Me, Riley, Conner, and Trester.”

“The members were expected to help collect [cans],” said Trester.

If they did not collect five cans each, they need to buy or find five cans.

“They could take it [candy], if they wanted,” said Student Council Sponsor, Mr. Trester.

Every year the school does the same fundraiser. The community gets to enjoy food on Thanksgiving, and Student Council gets the feeling that they helped someone.
