In the last two weeks, multiple Indiana schools have had a problem with MRSA. Recently a school in Richmond was shut down for decontamination because a student had contracted MRSA.
It leaves some people thinking what are some treatments for it and how does one avoid contracting it.
Frida Baldwin, a retired nurse, said, "MRSA comes from the hospitals. It's only when you don't wash your hands and simple hygienic things like that, do you really become at risk to get it.”
Some people have been in a media spread panic over the issue. Others haven't given it a second thought. It has been around for some time and is now being spread easier than normal.
“The media is blowing this up way bigger than it really is,” said Cathy Richmond, a nurse at Morningbreeze Nursing Home in Greensburg. “MRSA has always been around. It has just been a little more contagious during the last couple months,” Richmond continued.
