Looking ahead to the future is what seniors are doing. This is their last year of high school. It is the end of the road, and now some are thinking about what to do in the future.
The idea of a scholarship excites some seniors and that opportunity is now here. Indiana University-Purdue University at Columbus (IUPUC) is offering scholarships to schools. This is the first year Waldron has received these scholarships, and all it required was one seminar for Guidance Counselor Mrs. Runnebohm to attend in order to be awarded four scholarships.
“The meeting was very easy. I went to the campus and took a tour, and at the end of the seminar, we received the scholarships,” said Runnebohm.
The four scholarships are for anyone with a 3.75 GPA or higher. Two of these scholarships are worth $15,000 each, and the other two are worth $10,000 each.
“Any senior can receive this scholarship if he/she meets the qualifications and is approved,” added Runnebohm.
This opportunity will also be available for younger students as well as seniors. Meetings with juniors will start the next year school.
“I wish I would have known about this [scholarship] before now because I would have looked into IUPUC,” said Senior Tyler Smith.
