Kit Haymond is an underrated guitarist and better yet... lyricist. He can also play drums, bass, and keyboard and has what most musicians call raw talent.

He was born in Shelbyville in July of 1992. His whole family is musically talented. He has played guitar since he was a little boy, and his musical abilities are well beyond many his age and even older. He plays in a band Called Overtone. They have to songs that are known locally called "Get Away" and "Perfect Chance." His band has been considered punk, metal, and even grunge, but he doesn't seem to agree.

“My music is all of my influences rolled into one and that's why there is no label to it,” said Haymond.

"I think his style, playing the guitar, is very mature for his age,” stated Band Director Mr. Trester.

His personality is to always take one step at a time and never do more than he can handle, which is why many people misunderstand him.

“I've never considered myself popular, but at the same time, I'm not a nerd,” Haymond said happily. “But, I have my own group of people just like everyone else in high school.”

He has always been a perfectionist and never likes musicians that settle for anything less.

He is considered an outcast, an emo, and many different labels, but his true label is a great musician.

Trester said, “His style is a mix between Eric Clapton and Joe Satriani.”

“I do my own thing like you do yours, and I never regret a thing I write about or play,” Haymond said with a large smirk.

He has been influenced by blues artist such as Robert Johnson who supposedly sold his soul at the crossroads in Mississippi to the devil to play guitar. Haymond is also influenced by grunge artists such as Nirvana, Sound Garden, Pearl Jam, Temple Of The Dog, and Candlebox.
