While band students were practicing, they heard a strange noise coming from one of the back rooms... -
Friday, February 20, 2009 By Cortney L.
On Monday, February 16, band students got quite an unexpected surprise. While practicing their music, they heard a racket coming from one of the back rooms. One student stopped playing and listened intently. She said, “The noise sounded like grunting, almost like a pig.” Shortly after hearing the noise, a man came stumbling out of the room.
The man was about five feet tall, with a full beard and long, matted hair. His whole body was dirty and he had a loin cloth around his waist. He didn’t walk completely upright; he walked with his shoulders slumped over. “He looked like one of those cavemen from those Geico commercials,” commented one student.
After emerging from the mysterious tunnel under the school, the man was driven to the hospital to be examined and cleaned up. Efforts are being made to try to communicate with the man, but as of right now, they can’t get him past the grunting stage. Speech therapists say they’ll have to teach the man to talk just like they would teach a baby. They say it may take a few months before they’re able to get anything remotely helpful out of him, as far as his origin and why he was in the tunnel.
Investigators have since been exploring the tunnel, but have not found anything. According to one investigator, “The tunnel just goes on and on and on, and we’re not sure why it’s there or where it goes. This may take a few days.” They’re not exactly sure what they’re looking for or if they’ll even find anything. They say they’re expecting to find some sort of evidence of a shelter and food sources.
If you have any information about this man or the tunnel, please contact one of the investigators. We know you are all very interested in this mysterious tunnel, so as investigators learn more, we’ll pass the knowledge on to you.
