The New Haven Promise is a scholarship and support program for New Haven public school students.The New Haven Promise is for eligible high school graduates who live in the city. They can receive tuition assistance for the full two- or four-year program at a public college or university in Connecticut or up to $2,500 annually to attend a private nonprofit in state college or university. The New Haven Promise has three goals
- to cultivate an aspiration for college in new haven public school students,
-  to build the community and parental engagement,
- to grow economic development in New  Haven.

The New Haven Promise Program is hoping to reduce the amount of high school dropouts, crime, and incarceration. Also the New Haven Promise hope to increase the amount of high school graduates, quality of life, and homeownership.
