Research shows eating a healthy breakfast in the morning helps students concentrate and learn during the school day. Dr. Rakesh Chandra from the Memorial University of Newfoundland did multiple tests on school students showing that students remember important information and concentrate better when they gave the students the right vitamins and minerals. Angelica Golman currently a junior said “students at bogie usually do not eat healthy food.
Many schools have been improving there lunch menus in the past years. The biggest motivator of the action has been the national school lunch and breakfast program. These loans spend close to 6 billion dollars yearly to reimburse states for meals that meet the Department of Agricultural nutritional standards. Most public schools now offer one or more nutritionally balanced, relatively low fat meals per day.
Researchers at Harvard University also did research on what vitamin helps the body and brain function better. The researchers say that the most helpful vitamin, B12, is mostly found in meat, eggs, and dairy products. Will the lunch at bogie change to meet the standards or will it stay the same?
