It's easy to become overwhelmed when going into an exam of any sort. Whether you're prepared or not, test anxiety is fairly common, especially when the test is crucial for your grade. Knowing what to expect is key when it concerns an exam.
1. To be at the top of your game, make sure that you get enough rest the night before. While it is important to study the evening prior to the exam, staying up too late studying will only hurt you.
2. When going into a test, bring along several pens and pencils. Different tests require different materials, making it very important that you know what is expected of you. Blue or black ink may be required for the essay portion. Be sure that you take a spare just in case one stops working. It never hurts to be more prepared.
3. During the essay portion of your exam, try using every other line on your paper. This way, if a mistake is made, it can be fixed easily and neatly.
4. While you may have heard this many, many times, it is still very important: know exactly what is being asked of you and read each instruction very carefully. It is never right to assume - you can't risk being wrong.
5. Begin studying days in advance. Cramming the night before the exam is not doing anyone any good.
