Pep Rallies Embed This Article

Over the last several years, many students have come to realize that there isn’t much “pep” at the pep rallies, which is partially stemming from not having much student imput on the activities.  Some students feel that pep rallies are fun and entertaining, but others feel that pep rallies are boring and a waste of time. Five students we asked about on their opinion of the CHS pep rallies.

Katherine White, a freshman, said that she loved her first pep rally.  “The pep rally was fun because it was very interactive,” Katherine explained.  Katherine also said that she could tell the pep rally really affected the students by the smiles on their faces on the way out of school.

Abbey Stone, a junior, said that she sees both sides of the pep rally.  “The pep rally wasn’t bad this time, but all the pep rallies before have been lame,” Abbey implied.  Abbey also said that she likes it when students actually show their pep at the pep rallies, but she doesn’t like it when students don’t participate.

David Moore, a senior, said that he does not typically like the pep rallies.  “The majority of the student population would rather show school spirit at games by dressing up as Spartans and such,” he stated.   David also said that he thinks that there should be more fun for the students besides just standing in the stands.

Senior, Jessi Bowman, said that she enjoys pep rallies.  “People actually got excited this year,” Jessi said.  Jessi also said that she believes that the more the school gets the student body involved, the more successful the pep rally will be.

Sam Doak, also a senior, said that he has different opinions on the pep rallies as well.  “It’s ok, it gets you out of class,” answered Sam.  He also said that the only thing he really likes about the pep rally is the band.  Sam said that there should be more events, games, entertainment, and different announcements and routines at pep rallies.

Obviously there are many different opinions on the CHS pep rallies.  Most students feel that there should be some changes made to the pep rallies, but it all depends what their view on the pep rally is.
