OK, let’s see where to start. Well, I came to Arroyo my junior year, It was a big change from always being in a private school, so sheltered and secure. I have no regret for any of the changes I have made in my life or any of the people that have come across my path, I only hope to take a little piece of everyone with me as I leave from Arroyo and start into the next stage of life. I am very blessed to have teachers that helped me, gave great advice, listened to me cry, and told me everything would be ok.

I can’t thank Ms. Swanson enough for staying by my side when times got hard and lending a helping hand. She never once complained when we became lazy and stressed for time, and deadlines were right around the corner. She stayed by us, supported us and said to simply get busy and get it done. I cherish the moments I had with my family here at the Banner, from not getting my way in the library, to the latest gossip, and “show stopping” moments that only we has a family can have. “She doesn’t even go here” became our motto, and one of Ms. Swanson’s personal favorites.

As I leave Arroyo High School I feel proud of myself, for what I have accomplished and everything I will continue to accomplish threw out my life. I thank my family and my friends for staying by my side through the good and the bad.

When I entered into journalism as a junior I was so scared and nervous, I had no clue what

I was doing or why I was even in the class but I can honestly say that I am very proud to be apart of something as amazing as the Knights Banner. With so many talented people we have become a family, long layouts, deadlines, pizza days, and endless stories got us closer than ever. I wouldn’t trade anything, I wouldn’t ask for different ending to my year.

Now as the year ends it is time to say goodbye. I leave the Knights Banner in good hands, Tony, Jeannette, Chris, and Aileen, I am so proud of you guys, I am honored that I got to know each of you, don’t let anyone ever define who you are stay focused and committed just like you have been and Tony you better give the new guys a hard time just like we got. To my seniors Crystal, Gibby, Sammy, Kevin, and Roman, guys we did it, we’re getting old, I am blessed that I get to graduate with each of you. Good luck with everything I hope you guys accomplish everything you wish to accomplish in life, never doubt yourself and stay positive.

As the names are called and fireworks go off, I will look towards the stands and smile at my support, my strength, my guides….My family I love you guys so much, I thank you for standing by my side and for trusting me and the decisions I have made, I know it has not been easy. I will be looking for you as I walk on stage, receive my diploma, and say my final goodbyes to Arroyo High School. Sister, you have one more year, I love you, thanks for everything, keep your head up I will be back next year to see you walk on that same stage.
