A Not-So-Yummy Yummy Seafood Buffet
A plate of sushi. - Elaine Lac

Once you step into Yummy Yummy Seafood Buffet, instead of being greeting by the aroma of mouth-watering food, you are greeted by waiters and waitresses. As you walk towards your table you notice the food from afar and it makes you just want to start eating right away. But you come to realize that it’s all an illusion when you get an up close look of the food. Some are foods dry, crusty, and been sitting there for quite a while. The only appetizing food seemed to be sushi according to senior, Travis Hong. “The sushi was better than most buffets I’ve been to but it also lacks variety severely (most of it was just California roll variations).” Even though Travis ate 5 plates he rated the buffet 2.8 forks out of a possible 5. Unfortunately, senior, Brian Hsieh had the “luck” of getting burnt dessert that wasn’t expected until a look underneath showed it was severely burnt and this is what he had to say, “Some of the food was burnt, specifically the egg custard.” Leading him to rate this restaurant 3 forks out of 5. This then pops up the question of whether the cook could bake, you would think so being a chef and all but take another look underneath.

According to senior, Elaine Lac, there wasn’t much for vegetarians and not many healthy foods to choose from. “The food was very sparse for vegetarians. The fries were really good though. There wasn’t much in terms of salad. I thought that their noodles were good, but too oily.” This is the reason why Elaine gave it 2.5 forks out of 5.
For one challenger, senior, Millie Albarran there was a need to add lemon and salt on everything because it was bland. Millie also commented on the dessert as well, “There was no variety in the dessert! The only good desserts were the almond cookies and ice cream.” Millie ended up rating the buffet 3 forks out of 5.

Although the food wasn’t very satisfying to the brave challengers, none of them got sick thankfully. The Yummy Yummy Seafood Buffet prices were reasonable and cheap but at certain times of the day because the time accounts for how much is to be paid. The location is also very close to Arroyo, making it convenient. But what matters most is the food. So if you’re in a mood for cheap food, close by Arroyo High School, which is worth its low price, then this is the place for you.
