Many people around the world use social networking to communicate to other people.  There seems that there is no part of public, private or commercial life that hasn’t been made more accessible through a social networking tool like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.  There are many positive qualities and benefits from using these but also dangers of using those tools.
   The principal danger is that you show your personal information online.  It can be viewed by potential employers or school administrators.  If your employer sees some pictures of you under the influence or doing something illegally, the result can be a loss of job opportunities.  The school administrators can easily see pictures that show you violate the school rules. We have to be careful with our personal information.
   On the other hand, social networking might be useful in college. You can contact college staff members or professors if you have any questions.  You can ask whenever you need to. It helps to understand your courses.  If it is used in a good way, social networking can be interesting.
   Moreover, you can use social networking to make a positive impression on college or potential future employers. Your chances of acceptance increase if you make yourself look good [online]. But you have to avoid pictures that could negatively influence college’s perception or employer.  That means no alcohol, etc.  To make a good impression, you have to clean up your online image.
   So, social networking presents some dangers. But if we use it with caution, it is a really interesting tool for everyone. We must be aware and we cannot show our private life without paying attention.
