Meet the heart and soul of the Lompoc High’s Tennis team, Robert Rodriguez.
Robert is a senior at Lompoc High School. When asked when and what made him start tennis he stated, "In 7th grade, I was watching the U.S. Open with my brother, who also played tennis, and I thought it was cool." "I have played other sports though, soccer for 8 years and I even tried boxing for a year."
When asked why tennis was above the others he stated, "It is just you and the other guy. You get to prove who is the better player."
When asked about playing tennis in his later life he commented, "Most likely." "I’d liked to be sponsored by Adidas, but I play with a Wilson racket." And when the final question came up, Ready for Cabrillo? he simply stated "Hell ya."
