At-a-glance

Casey Stumpo - Virgil Cortez

For the past few years, spirit on the Lompoc High School campus hasn’t been prominent by far.

Sure there are a few students here and there dressing up on Fridays and going all out for certain games, but as a whole our brave spirit has been lacking.

People question, "Why don’t we have any spirit?" The answer is simple.

It starts with one person, then others will follow. You can never be too cool to cheer for your school as students have been in the past years.

Nothing is cooler than getting a bunch of teens together from all different groups to root for the same thing and be excited about it. This year started out rough, not being able to have a Senior Walk-Out, not getting a Welcome Back assembly, and not being able to show our class spirit at either of those events.

Although those things were stolen from us students, in the past weeks we’ve shown how spirited we can be. From Pink Day to Halloween, the amount of people that participated was rad and there are only better things to come with that.

So remember being spirited starts with you, and trust me, you can never be too cool to show what you believe in because that’s no fun, and fun is something for everyone.
