The Importance of…: Being a Role Model
Advertising
Role models can be examples of how to discover and realize your own unique talents and gain inspiration to do more, to be more authentic. These people serve as examples of the values, attitudes, and behaviors associates with a role; example, a father is a role model for his sons. Role models can also be persons who distinguish themselves in such a way that others admire and want to emulate them. For example, a woman who becomes a successful brain surgeon or airline pilot can be described as a role model for other women.

It is essential for a person to show a positive and professional attitude toward his/her work. You may be a good role model now, but remember, you don’t have to be sick to get better. Everything you do, and don't do, sends a message to others about your values. Be sure your messages are about doing the right thing, even when it is hard to do. When you slip (and all of us do), act the way you want and impress others by your work. Be accountable and sincere.

Being a role model for little kids is the best opportunity anyone can have because children are born without social knowledge or social skills, and they eagerly look for someone to imitate so it’s a good way to set a good and decent example for them. Using social skills is a great way to model positive behavior and boost a child's self-confidence. Being a role model takes a lot of responsibility, and if one is in a position where people around the community know them, s/he automatically a role model. Although some may not think they're a role model for another person, they may be surprised. While walking down the street, a child may think what a person does is “cool,” so they'll follow in their footsteps. My advice to people is to be careful of your actions. Wherever you may go, someone might be watching you and following your actions.
