Pro: Cheating is a Growing Issue in Schools
Advertising

You turn towards the clock, 2:30AM. You still haven’t studied for that Pre-calculus and AP Modern world test, still need to finish writing that AP Lang essay, and your eyelids are slowly closing. You can’t continue working, therefore you effortlessly choose to go to sleep and save the problem for the next day. The next day rolls in and you find yourself in a fix, with no time and plenty to do. Students find the easy option of glancing over on the prepared other student next to you during a test, or copying and rewording your friends notes and your problems seem to dissolve into thin air. No your problem is not solved; instead you feed into a much more prominent issue arising, cheating in schools.

Cheating has always followed us in society in many ways. We don’t live in the 18th century, we aren’t deprived of technology and knowledge, and we are now at an abundance of knowledge, only making cheating easier. In a technologically innovated 21st century, we have text messages, picture mail, internet, all in the palm of our hands. There are so many more and different ways to cheat now than there were before.  Not only that, these new methods are so much more sophisticated and easy to hide than the old fashioned  notes up the sleeve method. The internet, cell phones, iPods and the like have all made cheating so much easier and more accessible than it used to be.

All of these influences and tempts kids towards cheating, all the more making cheating a pressing issue. Although it may temporarily fix your problem, cheating is not the solution. It is just a rational decision in an irrational situation. Although it may temporarily fix your problem, cheating is not the solution.
