Including my demolishing of Kamau’s ego here every chance I get (he makes it so easy), there has been no shortage of things to talk about. Sadly enough, this is the last ST/BT that will be published for the 2008/2009 school year… so eat it all up and be back here in September, ready for Kamau and I to keep you in the sports loop as SENIORS!
The Caps gave Washington a heart attack each time they took to the ice against the Penguins, but it seems that we just couldn’t make it all the way to the Stanley Cup this year. Shame on anyone who thinks that Sidney Crosby is the face of the NHL, especially since Alex Ovechkin had an excellent season and supported the Capitals throughout the season. The Pittsburgh Penguins advanced on and will play the Carolina Hurricanes, while the Detroit Red Wings will battle it out with the Chicago Blackhawks. Kudos to New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur who completed his task of having the most regular season wins in NHL history with 552 wins.
Over to the MLB, it seems that we’ve lost another great would-be legend to steroids. Manny Ramirez of the LA Dodgers has been suspended for fifty games as a result of testing positive for "performance enhancers" and will not be back on the field until July 3.
Enjoy your summer, and I will hopefully see you at Nationals Park this weekend as they take yet another loss to my beloved Orioles. Not that the Nats could beat anyone else anyways.
