Mainstream: Did you achieve your goals for the season? How?
Podosek: Personally, I achieved the goals I set for myself. Students excelled in the classroom and on the court. My seniors graduate and are going to college, and those who desired are playing basketball in college. As a team, we really wanted to win the state championship. Although we lost by 3 points, I am very proud of our effort in the state championship and the entire season.
Mainstream: Anything you could redo this season?
Podosek: That is a tough question. Hindsight is great but not realistic. I learn from mistakes and from each and every practice and game. I use the experiences (good and bad) to help make me a better teacher and coach. I guess if I could have had a timeout left in the state championship game, that would have been great!
Mainstream: How did you prepare for this season?
Podosek: I spend a lot of time reading and viewing tapes to try to put a game plan in place to allow us to be as successful as possible. I talk to other coaches (both high school and college) to try to tweek some things to help us. I take time off away from everything for a few weeks over the summer to help me re-energize for the next year.
