I’m sure that the majority of the senior class is graduating with mixed feelings about leaving Paint Branch. Sure, they’re excited for college and the independence that comes with it, but they’ll also miss the good times they had with their friends. I’m not one of those seniors.

Graduation cannot come sooner for me. I have never liked high school. It has been boring, dramatic, and downright stressful. I am not going to miss the all-out catfights with friends and the emotional stress that comes with being a teenager. High school has successfully turned my life upside down.

I’ve grown tired of Burtonsville and Maryland in general. I’ve known since I was 7 years old that this wasn’t what I wanted in life. I wanted to be larger than life. No one can do that in Burtonsville. I know I’m meant to be somewhere great, do something great.

That is why I’m going to Manhattan to study fashion. I was never meant for the petty girl drama or the hormonal dating scene of high school. It never has and never will be me. Sara Evans said, "How can you keep your feet on the ground when you know you were born to fly?" The answer? You can’t. Goodbye.
