Have a Hankering for Good Music?: Try A Taste to Chaos

On Wednesday, February 23rd, the Taste of Chaos tour made a stop at the Patriot Center on the George Mason University campus. The Used, who were headlining the tour, were accompanied by My Chemical Romance, Killswitch Engage, Senses Fail, Underoath, A Static Lullaby and Bleed the Dream. The basketball court was turned into a floor where moshers could stand and jump around to the music. As the fifth stop on a tour with thirty-eight dates all over the country, the DC/Maryland/Virginia metropolitan area was very eager to welcome these artists. The crowd stunned the bands with their wild enthusiasm and seem destined to be remembered as the most fun and most wild venue on the tour.

Set up outside of the stage in the outer hallway were the merchandise stands where the bands sold hoodies, track jackets and t-shirts with their logos plastered all over. Many other advertisers such as PETA, Myspace.com and Gamecube were scattered around trying to make money off of all the band supporters.

The members of Underoath joined the money spenders in the hallways to greet their fans after their show and the lines to meet them were extremely long.

The focus could not be taken away, however, from the bands that were playing as their loud and energetic performances kept everyone from being out of the stage area for too long. As soon as a new band began playing on stage, the outer hallways cleared, and the floor and seats were filled with loyal fans.

The kickoff for the tour was successful and the probability that it will continue for years to come is high. If you like to have a good time, be in a chill atmosphere, and take in music with awesome bands, then check out the tour next year, you won’t regret it.
