It’s here! Spring Break has finally arrived. Most students would agree that a whole week for relaxing, having fun and spending time with the family is what they really need. The key is to have fun - after all, we are maturing teens - but to be safe at the same time. Sometimes things may get out of hand. So, when does partying or having fun go too far? And what are some Beckman students’ opinions on how to be safe or ideas for entertainment? Let’s hear what some Beckman students have to say on their opinion on the outrageous week of spring break.

“There should be a limit on how much partying there is. After all, it’s Easter and a family time. I’ll be with my mom this Spring Break in New York. I’m not the partying type, but Spring Break should be a lot of fun.” –Nicole Byrnes, sophomore

“It’s good to have fun and party and at the same time to be safe. It’s Spring Break, it’s time to relax, have fun, get your mind off things and enjoy life.” –Kory Gilbert, junior

“Well I think it’s good to party hard but to be safe. Nothing to get you into a situation you can’t get yourself out of, like drinking and stuff. Some people just want to have fun and forget all about school and can become really insecure and having too much fun can be a bad thing. Personally I’m going on a trip and I’m going to party, but I know my boundaries." –Crystal Verdicchi, freshman

“My opinion on Spring Break is that it’s a good time to get away from school and to hang out with the people you want to be around. I think spring break is the best time to enjoy my last year in high school.” –Cristian Kirkland, senior

There have been high school parties for decades, and it’s clear that students agree on the fact that it’s okay to have fun on Spring Break. However, all teenagers must remember to keep safety in mind. Partying isn’t what all students do. A week without school just calls for having fun.
