The Four Munchkins bust a move.
NBC may have the hit TV show "America's Got Talent," but St. Veronica's had them beat at our end-of-camp Talent Show, held on August 4.

All three camp groups strutted their stuff during the morning event, which also featured individual artists. Everyone worked hard on their acts, and the effort showed.

First up was Miss Hainie's group, "The Four Munchkins," a quartet of abundantly talented hip-hop dancers clad in white t-shirts they decorated themselves. Brandon, Jamal, Michael, and George showed Jay-Z and L.L. Cool J a thing or two about how to bust a move.

Mr. Mitchell's group was next, performing a talk show, "The JJ Show," where famous people such as football players Donovan McNabb and Tyrell Owens, Ravens team member Ray Lewis, and singer/actress Keisha Cole talked about such topics as teamwork, cooperation, and leadership. Christopher, Tierra, Jabril, and Maurice did a great job impersonating these celebrities.

Quincy, an exceptional artist, unveiled two works of art--a chalk drawing of a Chinese dragon, which will be the mascot for the upcoming Dragon Boat Races; and a cartoon drawing of a cat.

Another promising artist, Jasmine, displayed her colorful poster depicting all the summer events and good times that took place throughout camp.

The last group was Miss O's "Best Friends," consisting of the oh-so-fashionable Brin, Asia, Lucy, Christina, Jaquan, Shantee, Abria, and Tierra. The friends, decked out in the hottest summer looks, first pulled out their most Tyra Banks-like moves in a demonstration of a fashion show catwalk. The group then performed synchronized dance and lip sync routines to hits by Mary J. Blige and Missy Elliott.

The last act of the day was Allan, Quincy, Asia, Tierra, Lucy, and Abria singing the song "Together."

While the performers took a well-deserved breather, Miss Smith gave out special certificates. The 2006 Outstanding Student award went to Quincy, Jabril, and Shamar. Outstanding Behavior honors went to Asia and Anthony, and the Star Students were Jabril, Christina, Maurice, Tierra, Brandon, and Shantee.
