For our final field trip on August 2nd, we chose a movie and shopping trip to Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, Md. The stores were great and so was "Monster House."
Before the movie, everyone went into a lot of stores, including Nautica Kids. Shamira has been working at Nautica Kids for two weeks and said she chose the store because "there was a 'now hiring' sign in the window and I needed a job."
Kena, on the other hand, has been at Sweets From Heaven for four years. "I like candy," she said. Amanda is another veteran, having been with Claire's, an accessories store for teenagers, since 1997. "It is just a job," she said. "I need the money."
Nicole is at the Kenneth Cole shoe store because she is hoping for "change and a career." Brandy, a sales clerk at Rue 21, said she enjoys her job because "the store is very popular. We get a lot of customers."
Another popular store is Big Dogs, where we met Michelle, who also enjoys her job. "We sell casual clothes, which everybody likes," she said.
After shopping, we went to see "Monster House," which is about a house possessed by a very unhappy spirit! Three children decide to get to the bottom of this scary house and find out just what goes on behind closed doors. We all liked the movie, which was a little scary but very funny in parts.
