Many schools in the nation keep their mascot a mystery from the whole school, and it’s not revealed until the end of the school year. For example, the person inside C.V. High School’s mascot, the Arab, was unknown to the student body, except to the cheerleaders. He or she went around poking students, danced with them, and had a lot of spirit.

Who doesn’t like a little bit of mystery here or there? It could result in a lot of school spirit. There was also that mysterious Wanda from MySpace that we had last year and that was a great mystery. Wanda produced a mysterious atmosphere around school that made suspicions arise even among friends.

Should we have a mystery mascot for a new school tradition at Desert Mirage High School?

“Definitely, we need some spirit around school and an atmosphere of mystery is so much fun!!!” -Luis Magaña

“It would be fun, interesting, and curious. It would be a lot of fun.”- Ms. Loya

“The person under the Ram isn’t a mystery yet? I still haven’t figured out who was last year's mascot, but it’s definitely fun when you’re kept wondering!” -Daniel Hernandez

“That would be cool to have on campus.” - Moises Moreno-Rivera

“That’d be kind of creepy but cool in a way.” - Freddy Laris

“It should be a mystery. It could be fun!” -Claudia Madueña

“That would help keep the personality of the Ram separate from the person inside if that person is a quite one.” -Christian Mendez

“Yes and no - yes, because it’d be fun and exciting not knowing who the Ram is under that freaky costume. But no, because if the Ram does something wrong, no one would know who it is. But overall, yeah, it would be fun if teachers knew how to choose the mystery Ram.” – Alexandra Hernandez

“It is a good idea and more people would be willing to do it.” - Samuel Espinoza
