Children, families, and the young-at-heart made this weekend's release of Dr. Seuss' animated tale "The Lorax" (PG), the number one box office movie of the week with a gross of $70.7 million dollars. The total box office ticket sales was the largest grossing release of 2012, according to USA Today. In second place for the weekend was "Project X" (R), a comedy starring Jonathan Daniel Brown, which had a box office gross of $20.8 million. Last week's top movie slipped down two spots this week to third place, as the action film "Act of Valor" (R) took in $13.7 million. "Safe House" (R), starring Denzel Washington held steady in fourth place with a box office gross of $7.2 million. Tyler Perry's "Good Deeds" (PG-13), rounded out the top five films for the weekend with $7 million.
